Accountant | Environics Analytics (2019)

  • Responsible for tracking revenues, expenses, cash flows, and preparing various financial reports to communicate the financial state of the company for both budgeting and forecasting financial decisions.
  • Improved process time of generating financial reports with automation using Macros/VBA on MS Excel.
  • Supported and collaborated with different parties including clients, vendors, and internal teams of the company.

Board of Ambassador | CPA Ontario, York University (2017-2018)

  • Successfully promoted the CPA designation to a school population exceeding 50,000, surpassing all targets and achieving a 10% increase over the prior year’s results. As a result, we earned placement in Tier 1 in Ontario.
  • Led the CPA Ontario Campus team, overseeing a group of seven members, which included two Board of Advisors (BOAs). Collaborated closely with the accounting association, directing a team of 15 executive members to execute impactful business and accounting events.
  • Orchestrated the AIM Conference 2017 at York, securing over $6,000 in sponsorships. Through the invitation of esteemed speakers and facilitators, we provided 150 accepted delegates with a rich and valuable conference experience, fostering meaningful connections and insights.

CIBC Mellon

Fund Accountant (2017 internship, 2019 Full time)

  • Monitored mutual funds and ETFs valued over $15 million by accurately verifying all transactions (fees, trades, dividends) and analyzing data between different systems to ensure all fund activities were based on projected transactions or authorized client instructions.
  • Worked in a fast-paced environment and collaborated with clients and teams to resolve transaction discrepancies.
  • Operated Bloomberg terminal to provide backup reports to confirm corporate actions that affected the funds.

Trade Settlement Analyst (2018-2019 Full time)

  • Managed the trade settlements of over 40 clients by confirming individual trades and reconciling balances between two systems with trade transactions valued up to $10 million.
  • Collaborated with different functions of the department to ensure clients’ information and transactions were processed accurately and any discrepancies were addressed with all parties involved in a timely manner.

Internal Auditor (2018 internship)

  • Engaged in Service Organization Control (SOC) and Risk Based audit to identify risks and control failures and to ensure that control inefficiencies of the business units are being addressed.
  • Worked with different business units to perform auditing procedures including the identification of audit sample size, fieldwork testing, collecting/analyzing audit evidence, and documenting audit findings.

  • Verified operation activities of over 50 employees and increased the payroll process by 40%.
  • Worked with spreadsheets, Oracle and PeopleSoft to reconcile extracted files and process payroll.
  • Collaborated with 4 departments from different locations to verify time entries of employees.
